The Totem Base was an Eggman Empire facility in the Northern Tundra built and maintained by the Northern Tundra Dark Egg Legion under Grandmaster Akhlut and the brainwashed Walrus Herd. After being completed, it was destroyed by the combined efforts of the Arctic Freedom Fighters, Sonic the Hedgehog, Silver the Hedgehog, and Rotor Walrus.
History[]
Having enslaved the Walrus Herd, Akhlut's chapter of the Dark Egg Legion put them to work constructing the Totem Base, which included a large fueling station. Consisting of portions both above and below water, it was defended by the Northern Tundra Dark Egg Legion beneath and the Walruses above. As a result, the Arctic Freedom Fighters called upon Sonic the Hedgehog to support them in their assault on it, which involved the group splitting into two teams to attack each section of the tower. The attack might have failed had it not been for the timely arrival of Silver the Hedgehog and Rotor Walrus, who used the Psionic Emitter built into the tower to free the Walrus Herd and drive off the Legion. The Totem Base was subsequently destroyed, though Sonic would later realize that it had been intended as a support base for the Death Egg Mark 2. (StH: #215, #216, #225)
