Super Sonic is a super transformation of Sonic the Hedgehog, created by using the power of all seven Chaos Emeralds. Sonic has taken on many epic battles in this form, saving the world on multiple occasions.

Past Transformations

Super Sonic destroys the original Death Egg

Sonic is known to have achieved this form multiple times in the past, the first known instance being to destroy the original Death Egg. Later instances include stopping Perfect Chaos rampage through Station Square, stopping the Space Colony ARK from colliding with the planet (with the aid of Super Shadow), battling Metal Overlord, and to foil plans of both Dr. Eggman and Dr. Eggman Nega (with the aid of Burning Blaze). Sonic has also twice used this form to battle time-traveling threats: the monstrous Solaris and the sinister Time Eater. (VG: StH2, SA/SADX, SA2/SA2B, SH, SR, SRA, S06, SG)

The Genesis Wave

Sonic and Mega Man Go Super

Super Sonic with Super Mega Man.

When Sonic's World was rewritten along with Mega Man's reality, Sonic had the idea to turn Super after Mega Man used the Rush Adaptor to turn into Super Mega Man, and the two used the Chaos Emeralds to turn Super. Together, they stopped the ambitions of Dr. Wily and Dr. Eggman in their Egg-Wily Machine X. He taught Super Mega Man how to manipulate Chaos Control in order to bring their respective realities back to normal, but when Super Sonic attempted to use it on his reality, Dr. Eggman interrupted him, resulting in their reality seemingly shattering. Worlds Unite

Supers Finish Sigma

Super Sonic and Super Armor Mega Man about to finish off Sigma-3.

When Sigma fused Sonic and Mega Man's worlds together in an attempt to drain them of their life force, the heroes used the Chaos Emeralds as a last resort when the villain reached his final form. After giving Mega Man (who had no memory of their previous adventure together) a brief crash course in how to use the emeralds, he and Sonic achieved their super forms. After obliterating Sigma, the heroes tried using Chaos Control to return everything to normal, but to no avail. Ultimately, it was the efforts of Xander Payne that saved the day, who brought about a paradox that prevented Sigma's conquest, and Sonic and Mega Man's latest meeting, from ever happening. Taking on Dark Gaia

In this state, Super Sonic can fly and his speed and strength are greatly increased. He is also virtually invincible. This transformation tends to use "positive" Chaos energy and thus can also help overwhelm beings powered by "negative" energy. Super Sonic is also capable of using Chaos Control. (StH: #184, #229, SU: #2)

When transformed, Sonic's fur changes from blue to bright golden yellow, and his pupils turn from green to bright red. His quills also shift into an upright position. He is usually surrounded by a shining golden aura of light (and sometimes sparkles) in this form as well, though this can go away if Sonic so wills it.
