Sonic Saga Series is a 7-volume series of graphic novels published by Archie Comics, featuring SEGA's mascot video game character Sonic the Hedgehog. The series contains reprints of the ongoing Sonic the Hedgehog comic series, picking up from where current head-writer Ian Flynn began writing the series, essentially serving as a more modern equivalent of the Sonic Archives series.

Background Information[]

  • Sonic Saga Series was first announced in an interview with IGN and Sonic the Hedgehog editor, Paul Kaminski, which was revealed in an article on their website. In that interview, Paul Kaminski stated the following about the series: "To put it into context with our other graphic novel lines, the Sonic Saga series is a modern version of the Sonic Archives collection, akin to the Sonic Universe graphic novel series in which we chronologically collect the current story arcs."
  • Interestingly, even though the covers to the books include the words "Sonic Saga Series" followed by the volume number, the word "Series" and the following volume number are not included in the book title of the original image of the first volume. This had been changed by the time the first volume was released.
