Background Information[]
- This universe is set within the Sonic Boom spinoff series, which consists of the video-game Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal for the 3DS, television series, and the comic book tie-in.
- While sharing a continuity with the games, the events depicted in Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric appear to be non-canon, due to both Shattered Crystal and its prequel tie-in comic retconning its events.
- Most likely due to the games' lackluster reception, Ian Flynn confirmed that he could only use elements featured in the television series. Thus characters like Lyric, Shadow, Metal Sonic were off-limits during that time.
- The Sonic Boom Zone is the first alternate reality variant of the Prime Zone to be introduced in the Post-Super Genesis Wave Timeline.
- The inhabitants of this universe appear to possess Cosmic Awareness, or "4th Wall Awareness", an instinct which makes them fully aware that their entire world exists within a comic book format and regularly use it to their advantage in certain degrees.
- According to Cubot's dialogue in Sonic Boom: #3, this universe might also harbor alternate versions of Scratch & Grounder, Snively, Sleet & Dingo, and Decoe & Bocoe.
- However, this dialogue is more likely to be some of the comic's "4th Wall" humor.
