The Prime Zone is the core Zone in the multiverse. It is home to Mobius Prime and is the reality which Sonic Prime hails from.
History[]
Dr. Ivo Robotnik's Tyranny[]
Much of the known conflict in the Prime Zone would take place on Mobius, where the Freedom Fighters would battle the dictatorship of Dr. Ivo Robotnik. (OSM: #0)
One time, Sonic got sent from the Prime Zone to the Unknown Zone while collecting Power Rings, before being returned home. Another time, Sonic left the Prime Zone during a search for a shortcut around Mobius via the Cosmic Interstate before eventually ending up in the Reverse Universe. He later returned to the Prime Zone after defeating Anti-Sonic. (StH: #2, #11)
Chaos Knuckles and Eggman's Upgrades[]
As a result of Chaos Knuckles' tampering with reality, the Prime Zone was briefly greatly altered various time, with Mobius becoming Planet Freedom at one point. (StH: #101)
Worlds Collide[]
The Prime Zone, as well as the original Multiverse, was heavily rewritten due to a drastic change in reality caused by Eggman's tampering with the Genesis Wave. (StH: #251)
Overview[]
The Prime Zone is just one of many incarnations of Mobius's universe throughout Sonic's multiverse, but it and the Prime Zone are the core reality, of which all others are derivations of varying degree. It is possible to reach alternate dimensions from the Prime Zone through various means, mainly those within Sonic's multiverse and, on incredibly rare occasions, worlds from other multiverses entirely.
