The Neutron Chip was essential component in the Dream Watcher, which was devised by Dr. Quack in order for Sonic to enter the mind of the comatose King Max, who was crystallizing due to his long exposure to the Zone of Silence. Unfortunately for the Freedom Fighters, the Neutron chip emitted energy which Dr. Ivo Robotnik was able to track down Knothole Village. (StH: #43)
