Meri-Ca was a female echidna who resided on Angel Island during the Dingo takeover of the island. She was married to an echidna named Pollu. The couple had a daughter named Desi-Ca, who lost her eyesight during the Eggman Empire invasion.
When Knuckles and the Chaotix tried to liberate the island, Meri-Ca and her husband persuaded Knuckles, who they believed was the Avatar, to perform a miracle, and thus heal her daughter's lost eyesight. However, Knuckles declined the request stating that he could not perform miracles, Meri-Ca left him soon afterwards. (StH: #139)
Meri-Ca appeared to be deeply religious, which was stated by Pollu. Much to the dismay of Doctor Finitevus, who did not believed in the prophecy regarding the Avatar, resulting in him angrily yelling at Meri-Ca for believing in such superstitions. (StH: #139)
