- You may be looking for Lien-Da from the Mobius Prime universe.
Lien-Da (Light Mobius) is the Light Mobius counterpart of Lien-Da. Prior to the timeline being altered by King Sonic, Lien-Da was the Grandmaster of the Dark Legion, though she had seemingly let go of her hatred for her half-sister Julie-Su. After receiving word from her son Rutan that Knuckles was going to make an alliance with the Kingdom of Acorn to stop world wide destruction due to the numerous occasions of immense stress on the space time continuum, she confronted Rotor Walrus and Cobar. She had the latter create a device that would allow her to remember the other time-line after King Sonic repaired the damage. After the timeline was altered, she was the Grandmaster of the Dark Presence and a right-hand woman of King Shadow. After Shadow's fall at the hands of the returned King Sonic and Lara-Su, Rutan was taken away from Lien-Da, and she vowed vengeance on those she felt were responsible for it. After she managed to release Shadow, he became intent on revenge and intended to release Tikhaos and after Lien-Da tried to convince him otherwise, he broke her spatial armband, causing her to disintegrate.
History[]
Unaltered Timeline[]
Before King Sonic would alter the space-time continuum, Lien-Da had settled down and had a son named Rutan, living with her grandfather Dimitri. The identity of Rutan’s father is unknown but it appears Lien-Da is no longer involved with him. She ascended to the rank of Grandmaster of the Dark Legion, but the legion was reduced to more of a social group throughout the years. Cobar, a brilliant Echidna mind was also hired as her chief scientist. (StH: #131, #141)
Rutan overheard Knuckles and Rotor's discussions in Locke’s Park about the collapsing timeline. He was almost caught by Knuckles, prompting the Brotherhood to spy on Lien-Da from Haven II to see what Rutan may say. She, however, proceeded to yell at Rutan for being out in the park with Salma at night. (StH: #133, #134)
Later, Lien-Da questioned her son further. Dimitri intervened, saying that Rutan was only a teenage boy. This lead to an argument between Dimitri and Lien-Da about how he had never turned over control of the Dark Legion to her. Dimitri claimed he never did so because she only ever acted out of self-interest. Turning her attention back to Rutan, he admitted to being out in the park but explained what he'd heard discussed. Lien-Da seemed interested in this and let him off without punishment. (StH: #135)
After confronting Rutan, Lien-Da called Julie-Su, much to her half-sister's surprise. She was connected to a three-way conversation with herself, Julie-Su, and Queen Sally. They discussed the recent weather patterns connected to what Rotor was studying, Lien-Da hoping to learn more about the situation. Julie-Su invited Lien-Da to dinner but the offer was declined. (StH: #135, #136)
She later went to confront Cobor and Rotor about their experiments. She demanded information from Cobor, claiming he was hiding things from her. After hearing about the collapsing timeline, she forced Cobor to create a device for her which would help retain her memories after King Sonic altered the timeline. (StH: #141, #166)
Altered Timeline[]
Having retained her memories despite the timeline's alterations due to the device Cobor created for her, Lien-Da sought to imprison the two as they had also retained their memories of the previous timeline. After King Shadow's rise to power, Lien-Da converted the Dark Legion into his brutal enforces, reforming the organization into the Dark Presence, with her as its leader and the unofficial enforcer of Shadow's regime (with Knuckles as the "legitimate" enforcer). She kept Dimitri around, though he remained a permanent "guest" of her house along with her son Rutan. (StH: #167, SU: #5)
After Cobar and Rotor were captured, Lien-Da turned them over to King Shadow. Although Shadow killed Cobar, Rotor survived in a dungeon and was interrogated for some time. Shadow told Lien-Da to "thank" Rotor in the same way he did Cobor should Rotor tell them anything important. Shortly afterwards, the Dark Eyes reported to Lien-Da that Lara-Su and Tails had been found seeking out the former king Sonic. Lien-Da was ordered to contact Knuckles and to have all three arrested. (StH: #166)
After their capture, Lien-Da was celebrating these events in her home, much to the disappointment of Dimitri who was ashamed of her for siding with Shadow. (StH: #166, #167)
Five Years Later[]
After King Shadow's fall, Lien-Da was forced into hiding as a criminal, leaving behind her son and Dimitri. Displaying love for her son, she was deeply upset by this and planned her revenge on those she deemed responsible. During the celebration for five years of peace, Lien-Da had deployed a series of decoys to distract Lara-Su. While the Guardian was taking out the decoys, Lien-Da fired a rocket at King Sonic, Queen Sally and the royal twins. Her revenge was prevented however by the unexpected arrival of Silver the Hedgehog, who grabbed and destroyed the missile with his psychokinesis just before it struck the royal family. (SU: #5, #6)
Despite this setback, Lien-Da's forces captured the castle later that night. After Sonic and Lara-Su escaped to get help, and Queen Sally and the royal twins hid in the panic room, Lien-Da headed to castle catacombs where King Shadow was being kept in a pod. She attached a Chaos Syphon to the pod to drain away the effects of Lara-Su's Chaos Control, freeing and reawakening Shadow. Updating him on the past five years of events, Lien-Da was shocked when King Shadow revealed his plans to revive Tikhaos, who had been imprisoned in the catacombs as well due to the threat she posed. After Lien-Da attempted to convince Shadow to not release the beast, he broke her timeline armband, altering Lien-Da to fit in with the timeline adjustments. (SU: #7)
Appearance[]
Lien-Da's appearance remains mostly the same in the Light Mobius dimension. She retains her cyborg enhancements and a black leather uniform. In the altered timeline she is also seen with her whip. She wears a device around her upper arm, similar to those worn by the Prower family, so as to maintain her place in the timeline, so she was unaffected by the changes between the altered and unaltered timelines.
Lien-Da also looks very youthful despite her current age. The reasons for this are unknown but there have been Echidnas who age at a slow-pace due to their connection to the Chaos Force, such as the Brotherhood. It's also never been established the actual concrete rate at which Mobians age.
Personality[]
Like in the present time, Lien-Da would remain deceiving and wicked. In the unaltered timeline, she seemed to settle down with a more peaceful life but was still so much of a concern that the Brotherhood kept careful watch on her. Dimitri would often try to act as a voice of reason to her, promoting her to reestablish her relationship with Julie-Su. She was seen getting along with her half-sister as well. (StH: #131, #134, #136)
In the altered timeline, Lien-Da seemed to be more brutal and darker as leader of the Dark Presence and working for the tyrannical King Shadow. She took pleasure in torturing Rotor and pride in the fact she had niece Lara-Su, who she had a cordial relationship with in the unaltered timeline, arrested by her own father. Dimitri would also describe her behavior as "despicable". (StH: #166, #167)
She however remains loving towards her son despite her strictness and their forced separation hurt her deeply, uttering his name as she faded away. She becomes revenge-driven after King Shadow's fall, eager to punish those she finds responsible for the current government and her situation, including Sonic and Lara-Su. However, she does appear to possess some restraint, as she had no desire to harm Sonic and Sally's children, who of course had no role in Shadow's downfall. Additionally, though eager to see her enemies punished, she was appalled by the idea of unleashing a creature as uncontrollable as Tikhaos on civilians. (SU: #5)
Background Information[]
- It is common speculation among fans that Rutan's father is Doctor Finitevus due to the white tips on the end of Rutan's dreadlocks. Lien-Da was never seen having a personal relationship with Finitevus but was once his boss during the "Return to Angel Island" story arc. To this date though, there is no official confirmation on his father's identity.
- While Lien-Da normally has red hair and fur, her hair has sometimes been colored various shades of pink.
- Lien-Da's name was mistakenly spelled "Lein-Da" in Sonic Universe #5.
