The Gyro was an aircraft built or acquired by Vector the Crocodile and used to make his way from Downunda to Angel Island. Some time later, he and Knuckles the Echidna used it to make their way to Mobius' surface, where they made contact with the wandering Mighty the Armadillo. Mighty joined them in returning to Angel Island, but the added weight proved too much for the craft and it fell apart, though the future members of the Chaotix managed to make it to the floating landmass safely.
