Grendel is a large purple dragon that lived in Vesuvio

and was a member of the Vesuvio Council. When Dulcy had returned to Vesuvio and unintentionally led Dr. Eggman to its location, his army of robotic dragons invaded. Blame was then placed on Dulcy for the invasion by Glint and he then ordered Grendel to have her taken away to the pillory. He then chained her to a rock and took the young dragon Sparky whom Dulcy had saved with him. When the battle grew more fierce, Grendel engaged a mecha-dragon and beat it, but it then landed on Dulcy which caused her nose ring to break and allow her to use her flame breath. He was later present for Dulcy's pardon along with the rest of the council. (StH: #156)
