The Great Blue Realm encompasses all or part of the world's oceans, and is known to include the undersea city of Meropis. It is also home to the aquatic divisions of Dr. Eggman's Egg Army, with the Northern Oceans unit under the command of Egg Boss Akhlut and the Southern Oceans unit commanded by Abyss. It was one of many areas of the planet affected by The Shattered World Crisis, and was thus besieged by Dark Gaia's Minions (StH: #261).
It is speculated that is literally the oldest kingdom in Sonic's World, mainly because is considered that "life started in the oceans".
