Eggmanland (also spelt Eggman Land) is an energy refinery designed to resemble an amusement park with lethal attractions created by Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik as part of his plan to harvest and refine the energies of Dark Gaia unleashed during the Shattered World Crisis.
History[]
Conception and Creation[]
Ever since his plans to conquer Mobotropolis and establish his own empire, Dr. Eggman had always intended to build his vision of a mechanical utopia he dubs Eggmanland. However, his attempts to do so have always been stopped by Sonic the Hedgehog and his allies. (VG: StHs)
After determining that Dark Gaia's raw power was a source of energy more abundant than even the Power Rings-though not exceeding the limitless energy of the Chaos Emeralds-Dr. Eggman determined to harvest it for his own uses. Due to his own eccentricities, he decided to construct a refinery that incorporated death-trap thrill rides into its design, something that Orbot felt was a waste of time and resources. Eventually he succeeded and a alternate version of Eggmanland was born. The refinery soon began harvesting Dark Gaia's energy, the goal being that it would be used to supercharge the Death Egg. However, his operations attracted the attention of Wendy and Walter Naugus, who invaded Eggmanland with the aid of their Witchcarters. (StH: #266, #276)
Eggman's Dozen[]
In response to this invasion, Eggman soon assembled a team consisting of every Egg Boss under his command to reclaim Eggmanland. The team's first step is to sabotage the facility's defences, so Eggman sent each of his Egg Bosses in pairs to complete certain objectives. Meanwhile, the Naugus twins were at the Summoning Spire, where Walter was trying to harness the refinery's collected energy to fully restore the powers he lost because of the first Genesis Wave. However, Wendy soon realised that the spire has been shut down and she could not call the Witchcarters to her aid. Eggman and his Egg bosses then confronted the twins and engage them in battle. Despite regaining control of the Witchcarters and having a Crystallized Metal Sonic on their side, the Naugus twins were defeated by Eggman's team, which allowed the doctor to retake control of his facility. Second Invasion and Destruction[]
Eventually, Eggmanland was invaded again, but this time by the Sally, Antoine, Bunnie and Tails, who planned to shut down the summoning spire before it's energy can be used to supercharge the Death Egg. However, they soon discovered that Eggman has stationed two Super Badniks and an entire Badnik Horde to guard the refinery. Although the Freedom Fighters were able to fight through the Badniks, they were unable to deactivate the spire because the gathered Dark Gaia Energy began to reform into the Dark Gaia, tearing Eggmanland apart in the process.
