The Egg Fleet was a massive, aerial assault force consisting of dozens of vessels, all based off sea creatures. It was built to be the primary attack force of the Eggman Empire.

History[]

The Egg Fleet was built using the considerable resources of the Eggman Empire, either by Dr. Eggman or by Neo Metal Sonic, the latter having impersonated the doctor and taken control of the empire for a time. Several vessels took part in the construction of Casino Park, which Neo intended to serve as a trap for Sonic the Hedgehog and as a headquarters for Breezie the Hedgehog. However, his plans were thwarted by the efforts of Team Sonic, Team Dark, Team Chaotix, and Team Rose, despite his transformation into Metal Overlord. (VG: SH, StH: #270)

After Dr. Eggman witnessed Black Doom's destruction of Westopolis, the doctor realized that there would be nothing left for him to create his Eggman Empire on if the Black Arms continued. As such, he called the Egg Fleet into action, determined to put a stop to this. (VG: STH)

While not given a name, the Eggman Fleet reappeared in the opening of Sonic Unleashed, this time as a massive and heavily armed space armada. While it appeared as a means for Dr. Eggman to conquer the world, its actual purpose was to deceive Sonic the Hedgehog into thinking that the doctor was trying to conquer the world and to guard Dr. Eggman's Chaos Energy Cannon, which was created to release Dark Gaia. The fleet itself was eventually boarded by Sonic and heavily damaged by his Super State Super Sonic in his subsequent battle with Dr. Eggman. (VG: SU)
