E-108 Iota is the ninth E-100 Series robot to be developed by Dr. Eggman.

Iota was deployed alongside its brother units Kappa and Lambda to the Sand Hill Zone in order to intercept Sally Acorn, Antoine D'Coolette, and Bunnie Rabbot-D'Coolette of the Knothole Freedom Fighters as they attempted to retrieve a Chaos Emerald. (StH: #266)

When the Freedom Fighters assaulted Eggmanland, Iota provided air support for the Badnik ground forces. However, It was eventually shot down by Tails in the Tornado. (StH: #286)

Iota was stationed in the Northern Tundra, but it was tracked down and destroyed by E-102 Gamma and its Mobini battery freed in the process. (ASUB)

Background Information

• Iota was never formally introduced in the comics prior to Worlds Collide, but his fate was revealed in the (now defunct) Sonic Universe blogs.

Appearance

Unlike previous E-100 models who have typically been humanoid in form-with the exception of ZERO and the upgraded Beta-Iota appears to be based on a bird.
