Deerwood Forest is a forest area in Eurish located in the Kingdom of Mercia's territory (similar to Northamer's Great Forest and its location to Mobotropolis). It is the location of Hideaway, the stronghold of the Mercian Freedom Fighters, and has been imperiled by the High Sheriff under Dr. Robotnik and by the Mercia Dark Egg Legion under Dr. Eggman.

After Dr. Ivo Robotnik expanded his global empire and took over the Kingdom of Mercia, he placed his sub-boss, the High Sheriff, in charge of Mercia to round up and roboticize locals and suppress any resistance groups. Those who managed to escape captured and fled to Deerwood forest. Rob o' the Hedge became the king of Deerwood during the time the High Sheriff controlled Mercia. He established the Crazy Kritter Freedom Fighters to oppose the High Sheriff, and the group operated from within Deerwood until all of its members except Rob were captured and roboticized. The Lost Tribe wandered through Deerwood forest during their quest to locate Albion. When Sonic ran around Mobius with the Super Emerald attached to his back to fix time, he "disturbed the tranquility of life" in Deerwood forest. (StH: #58, #71, #111, KtE: #11, #12)
Later Threats[]
The residents of Deerwood Forest were among those who received the telepathic message sent by the Xorda announcing their intent to destroy Mobius. Some time later, it became the target of the Mercia Dark Egg Legion under Mordred Hood, who became obsessed with locating the Freedom Fighters hidden within its boundaries. In addition to interrogating prisoners regarding its whereabouts, he attempted to have the forest burned, but was thwarted by the Freedom Fighters and their allies Mighty the Armadillo and Ray the Flying Squirrel. Shortly thereafter, the forest was visited by other members of the Chaotix-Vector the Crocodile, Espio the Chameleon, and Charmy Bee-who likewise joined the Freedom Fighters in resisting the Legion and evacuating a number of freed prisoners to the forest.
