Burrobot is a mole-based classic badnik created by Dr. Ivo Robotnik. Designed to dig around for the location of Knothole Village, its specialty is digging with its drill-nose. Eventually though, they were deemed obsolete and replaced by more effective forces.
History[]
Dr. Ivo Robotnik's Tyranny[]
In 3235, when Dr. Ivo Robotnik acquired the Freedom Emeralds, Burrobot was assigned to guard the one stashed underground. When Sonic the Hedgehog was later lured into his lair, Burrobot stole the Freedom Emerald he already had and attacked him. After dodging him for a while though, Sonic beat Burrobot by running in circles around him until he became dizzy and dropped down, while Sonic snatch his Freedom Emeralds and ran away. (OSM: #2)
A customized Burrobot was later assigned to plant Krudzu seeds in the Great Forest that would force the Knothole Freedom Fighters out into the open. While Burrobot accomplished his mission, the plants were destroyed in a thunder storm. As such, Burrobot was thrown in the Robot Disposal by an angry Robotnik. Later, while visiting Renobotnik, some Burrobots would attend Robotnik's presentation of his latest Classic Badnik: Orbinaut. (StH: #1)
A giant Burrobot sent by Robotnik later came to the Great Forest in order to destroy Sonic. As it tore the forest apart, the Burrobot would have rolled over Sonic had it not been for Bunnie's intervention. As Sonic proceeded to engage the Burrobot in the open, the giant Badnik sprung its trap and incapacitated Sonic with a concussive energy beam. Before it could roll over Sonic though, it got flipped over by Bunnie. Sonic then dug a trench around it with his speed that quickly collapsed onto the Burrobot, burying it. Following that, after Universalamander's threat had passed, Burrobot joined Robotnik on a company picnic to celebrate the doctor's return before resuming his terrorizing activities. Later, Burrobot attended the Robotropolis Olympic Games, which ultimately ended with Burrobot and his cohorts being forced to retreat when Sonic overloaded their Port-O-Bot. (StH: #3, #4, #5)
Burrobot soon after took part in Robotnik's attack on the Knothole Freedom Fighters in Mobius Natural Park. While there, Burrobot tried to attack Tails, only to get tricked into hitting a drum of acid that dissolved his drill by Sonic. Back in Robotropolis, Burrobot decided to steer clear of Robotnik for the next few days for his own safety while the doctor raged over acquiring a treasure that turned out to be Sonic's bronzed baby shoes. Later, Burrobot came to Robotnik Haul to witness the wedding between Robotnik and a sorceress. However, when Robotnik got humiliated by an invisible force, Burrobot was ordered to destroy the sorceress, only for her to escape. Some Burrobots were later summoned to Mobius Concert Hall to capture the Knothole Freedom Fighters. However, said group rendered the Burrobots harmless by shrinking them with Snively's reduction device, leaving the miniscule Badniks to return to Robotnik. (StH: #7, #8)
Burrobot was later part of an invasion to stop Sonic and Sally's wedding, before Robotnik realized that it was only a play. He wasn't seen until later when Sonic went to look for Nack the Weasel in the Robo-Hobo Jungle.Burrobot was one of the many badniks that attacked sonic, but was beaten again. (StH: #18, #40)
Later Battles[]
Burrobot wasn't seen again until Sonic decided to visit the Island of Misfit Badniks. Like the other Badniks, he was smashed to pieces. Eventually, Pseudo-Sonic arrived and decided to settle his fight with a "Bighorn Challenge." The vibration that they created sunk the island with the badniks still on it. When they tried to repair Pseudo-Sonic, Burrobot discovered a Ratio Redoubler, similar to the one that made an older Burrobot a giant. They tried using it to enlarge Pseudo-Sonic, but the Forty Fathom Freedom Fighters interfered, and Burrobot had to finish repairs himself. He succeeded, but when Pseudo-Sonic awoke he knocked away all the Badniks and the Freedom Fighters before Big Fluke smashed everyone, including Burrobot, into a cube. (StH: #170, #185)
Worlds Collide[]
During Dr. Eggman and Dr. Wily's operation in the Skull Egg Zone, a Burrobot could be seen fighting with a Chao resembling a Mettaur while a Mettaur looked on. (SU: #53)
Appearance[]
The early models of the Burrobot created by Dr. Ivo Robotnik have a blue body consisting of a round torso and a large yellow head with round white eyes with black pupils, and a gray cone-shaped drill bit for a nose. On their head they wear a red hard hat. Their round shoulders are as well yellow and red, and their two arms are gray with round yellow hands, each with three gray sharp fingers. As legs, they have tracked wheels on each side, which runs between two wheels; one is small and one is bigger.
Later models of the Burrobot created by Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik could be seen in the Skull Egg Zone. They have a blue body consisting of a round torso and a large head with round white eyes and black pupils, grey disks for ear pieces and a large grey cone-shaped drill bit for a nose. On their head they wear a yellow hard hat. Their chest is gray, their shoulders are yellow and round, and their two arms are gray with three sharp fingers on each hand. As legs, they have tracked wheels on each side, which runs between two wheels; one is small and one is bigger.
Personality[]
As a classic badnik, Burrobot possesses a limited A.I. He has proven to be very hostile and aggressive, and possesses a penchant for violent acts. Regardless, he also has a degree of self-awareness and concern for his own life. (OSM: #2, StH: #1, CSE)
Abilities[]
Burrobot is equipped with a drill-nose that can pierce through anything, including rock and dirt. This makes it not only useful as a weapon, but also for digging trenches. Early models of the Burrobot created by Dr. Ivo Robotnik could also shoot concussive energy beams from their hands. (OSM: #2, StH: #1, #3)
