Best of Sonic the Hedgehog Volume 2: Villains is the second volume of the Best of Sonic the Hedgehog graphic novel series of reprints, as well as the final volume of the initial hardcover book incarnations to be released. It collects various Archie Sonic comic stories showcasing the villains of the Sonic Comic Universe.

Background Information

• Like volume 1 before it, this volume was planned to have a softcover release sometime after its initial hardcover version, which was scheduled to release in early 2014, but was pushed back multiple times before finally being cancelled.
• Despite appearing on the cover, neither Chaos nor Mammoth Mogul appear in any of the featured stories.

Original story line-up

The books Amazon listing featured a list of different stories to the ones that showed up in the final release. It’s not known why these were changed, though it’s likely due to the heavy focus on villains created by previous writers (such as Geoffrey St. John and Mammoth Mogul), as well as a story itself written by a previous writer (Karl Bollers, and were swapped out in light of the legal battle with Ken Penders. The stories were as follows:

• "Lost in the Moment" (StH#231) (This is the only story that appeared in the actual book)
