Archimedes was a Fire Ant and mentor to Knuckles the Echidna in the world of Light Mobius. At some point, he decided to return to his ancestral homeland of Downunda, and was accompanied by Knuckles. The two shared a discussion about things, such as Archimedes' desire to return to the land of his forebears-something that Knuckles couldn't understand despite the desire of many Echidnas to return to Albion-and Knuckles' decision that the Guardian line would end with him. Despite his retirement, there was some question as to whether or not he would take part in Lara-Su's training as a Guardian after Knuckles reversed his former decision. (StH: #143, #144)
