Archie Sonic the Hedgehog Issue 4 was the fourth issue of the main Sonic the Hedgehog comic series.
Summary
Story One
- "The Lizard of Odd" - Part One
At the beginning of this issue, Dr. Robotnik is in his office waiting for his SWATbots to return from their hunt for a wild animal. Robotnik intends to roboticize the creature, but once it arrives, he finds out it is nothing but a mere salamander. Robotnik considers this to be an insult, but decides to robotice the reptile anyway. During the process, Buzzbomer accidently turns on a switch that enlarges the salamander, turning him into a huge, robotic reptile named Universalamander.
Meanwhile, Sonic the Hedgehog and his friends notice Universalamander on the radar screen. Sonic quickly rushes off to destory Universalamander, but in doing so he gets eaten by him. His friends watch in horror, thinking that their beloved hedgehog is gone for good.
- "The Lizard of Odd" - Part Two
While Sonic's friends are upset over their loss, Sally points out that something is wrong with the Universalamander. Sonic turns out to be alive, and wriggles out of the robot's mouth. Sonic quickly runs off to collect his seven Chaos Emeralds and Rings (he collected them earlier, but this isn't shown in this issue) and makes it into the Special Zone. Sonic realizes he hasn't collected enough rings to power up, but quickly grabs them. The power from this is so great, it turns Sonic into his super-form, Super Sonic.
Super Sonic quickly ambushes Universalamander, and instantly runs back to Rotor's workshop to get a shrinking device. Super Sonic uses the device on Universalamander, reducing him to a tiny salamander. Afterwards, Sonic runs back to party with his friends, but is still in his Super Sonic form.
Story Two
- "Tails Little Tale"
This story begins shortly after the main story, with Sonic taking a nap by a tree, but his friend Tails runs off to spy on Robotnik, in his own little adventure. As it turns out, Robotnik is having a company picnic with his robots to celebrate the defeat of Universalamander, but shortly sends them out to menace the world, once again. Suddenly, both Robotnik's robots, Orbinaut and Buzzbomber attack Tails, but he manages to fight them off.
Tails quickly goes to Robotropolis to find out what Robotnik is up to. He notices a shadow that looks like him, but as it turns out, it is really a shadow puppet done by a SWATbot. Tails is kidnapped by the SWATbots, and is almost roboticized until Sonic rushes to save him. The SWATbots quickly self-destruct, but Sonic and Tails make it out before they do. In the end, Sonic warns Tails to be careful whenever he's out on an adventure, but Tails hardly keeps that promise.
