Archie Sonic the Hedgehog Issue 10 was the tenth issue of the main Sonic the Hedgehog comic series.

Summary[]

Story One[]

"Revenge of the Nerbs" - Part One

Sonic detonates several land mines on the outskirts of Robotropolis so the Freedom Fighters can locate one of Robotnik's power cables and steal power for Freedom HQ. They find two identical cables and have to choose one to take. The one they choose turns out to be booby-trapped, leaving them imprisoned inside a giant force field dome with an army of SWATbots closing in. Suddenly, a Nerb emerges from a tunnel directly beneath them. Despite his bad manners, the Freedom Fighters use the tunnel to escape the force field, following it to the city of Nerberhood.

The ruler of the Nerbs explains that constant building in the area has threatened their water and air supplies. Sonic tells him that Dr. Robotnik is the one destroying their lifelines and proposes they work together against their common enemy. The Nerb ruler refuses to provide them with any help due to his reluctance to mix with outsiders. Forced to leave, the Freedom Fighters found their way to the Mobius Sewer System. Hearing a loud noise, Sonic speeds off into the sewers to investigate.

"Revenge of the Nerbs" - Part Two

Sonic discovers Robotnik operating a massive digging robot in the center of a large construction project, as well as three captured Nerbs. After tricking Robotnik into destroying the force field holding them prisoner, Sonic escorts the Nerbs to the other Freedom Fighters. He asks his friends to get the Nerbs to safety and seal the sewer entrance.

He races back to a door holding the Mobius River at bay, opening it and letting it flood the sewer. Sonic tunnels his way to the surface, creating a small geyser. The rest of the river's water creates a massive geyser, lifting the entire city of Robotropolis into the air. Yet another geyser sent Robotnik and his wrecked digging robot flying. The Nerbs thanked the heroes for saving them by making them honorary Nerbs.

Story Two[]

"'Twan With the Wind"

The Freedom Fighters are riding in Antoine's hot-air balloon, looking for the perfect spot for their annual picnic, when they're spotted by a pair of Buzzbombers. The 'bots quickly pop the balloon and the Freedom Fighters tell Antione to give up on flying it due to its lack of practicality. Back in Robotropolis, the two Buzzbombers report their success to Robotnik. Snively tells him that the Freedom Fighters were most likely scouting for a place to hold their picnic.

The next day, Antoine and Tails talk about the crash. The talk motivates Antoine to repair the hot air balloon and prove he and the balloon are not useless. Later, the Freedom Fighter picnic is ambushed by Robotnik and a horde of Badniks. Luckily, Antoine returns with the repaired balloon, thwarting the Badniks by tossing mud and explosives at them. He grabs Robotnik and dumps him in a lake. Afterwards, the Freedom Fighters head for home, but their hot air burner is busted. They decide to let Antoine babble into the balloon to keep it floating back home.
