Story One[]

"Babylon Rising" - Part Two: Reunion

The Babylon Rogues have found the way to revive the long-lost city of Babylon Garden! The only thing standing in their way is the entire Battle Bird Armada. Speedy has cornered the Babylon Rogues against the cliff face, and offers them a deal: give him the key to Babylon Garden, and his father, the Battle Lord, may offer forgiveness for deserting the Battle Bird Armada. The Rogues, rather than consenting, poke fun at his new flight harness. He offers peace once more, but the Rogues quickly board their extreme gear and escape instead. The Armada pursues, but they are no match for the Rogues' speed. Speedy pursues Jet with the two drones as instructed by his father.

The Rogues manage to take out the drones but Speedy takes down Jet and is almost victorious until Wave helps him. Together the Rogues beat Speedy who is in turn saved by his father who defeats them and temporarily traps Jet in a gravity-controlled bubble created by his ring, a family heirloom that stretches back hundreds of years. He holds Jet as a hostage and gets the Rogues' promise to join the Armada again as well as the key. He then reveals that the key and his ring work together. A holographic map is projected from the cube revealing the location of the Babylon Garden. The Battle Lord declares that they have a chance to kill "two birds with one stone...or at least a two-tailed fox."

The location switches to New Mobotropolis, still recovering from the Death Egg attacks and the effects of "Genesis" in STH 225-231 and aftermath of STH 232. Some people say the city needs to be evacuated, while others claim that "King Naugus" will save them. Sonic, Tails, and Rotor all see the Armada invading the city. Rotor tries to raise the defenses via Nicole while Tails tries to restore the Tornado to working order. Pushed over the edge with the recent traitor Geoffrey, the attacks of Naugus and Eggman, and Sally's fate, Sonic declares battle.

Off Panel[]

The first panel shows Speedy and Jet both fighting one another in the sky. Both of them argue that their methods of flying are better; Speedy with his flight harness and Jet with his Extreme Gear. The next panel shows that they argue that the other will not be able to handle their method of flying and make a deal to switch. In the last panel, it shows Speedy struggling to use the Extreme Gear as well as Jet having trouble with the flight harness.

Quotes[]

  • Speedy: Yeah, just try and outrun me, Jet. You'll get nowhere on that outdated Extreme Gear.
  • Wave: Yes, I'm sure our boards are no match for your "Extreme undies."
  • Storm: Haw! You said "undies" (wipes tear) ...undies!
  • Sonic: First those Ixi-jerks Naugus and St. John stink up the city--then Eggman tries to wipe us out of existence, for Sally's sake, we're gonna take these turkeys down before they touch this town! Bring on the battle, birds!

Key Events[]

  • The Babylon Rogues rejoin the Battle Bird Armada to seek out Babylon Garden.
  • The Battle Bird Armada head towards New Mobotropolis for battle.
