Summary[]

Story One[]

King of the Hill: Part Two of Three - "The Thrill of the Hunt"

In HavenSabre and Sojourner find that all of their monitors have gone offline. Locke checks the circuits and realizes that their systems are being jammed by outside forces. Thunderhawk wonders if Moritori Rex is involved, but Locke believes they would already be aware of a Dark Legion invasion and the perpetrator is keeping their actions on the island a secret.

An ominous Overlander stands before Knuckles and Monk, weapon in hand. Monk threatens him, but the hunter quickly turns his taser on the gorilla. With Monk knocked out, he turns his attention to Knuckles and explains that he's been studying him for a long time. The Overlander calls upon his robot, Aryu One-Two, to carry Monk back to his base. He turns to Knuckles and asks him to follow. Meanwhile, Archimedes informs Locke that Knuckles has gone missing. They head out to search for him together.

The Overlander, Hunter, arrives at his high-tech yacht. He explains to Knuckles that it serves as his vehicle and home, reminding Knuckles Dr. Robotnik, the high-tech tyrant. Hunter begrudgingly admits that Robotnik shares a species with him, but he resents the madman's lack of sportsmanship. With Knuckles overcome with disgust as he stares a wall of mounted animal and Mobian heads, Hunter demonstrates his point by firing a small gun at Knuckles while his back is turned but intentionally missing his shot. Hunter explains that he wants a competition, but Knuckles doesn't know why he would want to cooperate. Hunter implies that something awful could happen to Julie-Su and waits for Knuckles to accept his terms.

Locke and Archimedes find Hunter's jamming device and follows his tracks. Meanwhile, Hunter forces Knuckles and Monk to put high-tech collars and tells them to flee. Once outside, Monk immediately tries to abandon Knuckles. Their collars activate, shocking them. Knuckles realizes that Hunter's collar will shock them if they don't work together and convinces Monk work with him. They head for safety while Hunter prepares for battle.

Story Two[]

"The Best of Friends"

Espio is held in a facility by Valdez and his Shadowbots. Shocked, he asks how his friend became roboticized. Valdez explains that while the Royal Secret Service was evacuating the citizens from Mobotropolis, he was captured by Robo-Robotnik's Shadowbots. He roboticized him and reprogrammed the chameleon to be more than a mindless drone. With a slight amount of free will, Valdez was sent to the Floating Island to find the Master Emerald.

Believing that everyone but Dr. Robotnik is his enemy, he tries to convince Espio to join him. He has the Shadowbots bring in Liza, who struggles to escape. Noticing her resistance, Valdez wonders if she's finally willing to admit that she loves Espio more than him. She confesses that she brought Espio to Valdez, hoping he could reason him out of his brainwashing.

Valdez believes Liza has outlived her purpose and orders her to be roboticized. Espio tries to fight back, but Valdez easily brushes him aside and lets him watch Liza as she becomes a Robian. He tells Espio that he will spare the remaining chameleons if he surrenders everything he knows about Knuckles and his secrets.
