Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog was an animated series produced by DiC, the same company that created Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic Underground. The early Archie Sonic the Hedgehog issues featured plotlines similar to what would be found in Adventures, and several characters from the series were adapted into the comics over the years.

Background Information[]
- When being asked about the inclusion of Breezie in the comic book series, Ian Flynn stated that he wasn't much a fan of the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon but knew of older comic book readers that were. Ian also stated that the reason he added more characters from the cartoon into the comics was because that comic fans had already lost so much as a result of the Super Genesis Wave.
